CFASF Women's Initiative Network (WIN) Presents:

Know Your Value and Negotiate for More

Have you ever wanted to negotiate something for yourself but were half scared to do it? You’re not alone. Women cite anxiety as the key reason they don't negotiate for themselves and when they do negotiate, they’re less effective than men. Join us for an interactive session led by Maya Tussing, Principal at Alesco Advisors and Joy Valentine, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to learn new ways to set your goals and position them with stakeholders that can have a profound effect on boosting your confidence to get what you want.

Maya Tussing
Maya co-leads the San Francisco office of Alesco Advisors, an SEC-registered investment advisory firm servicing the investment needs of institutions, foundations and high net worth individuals. Previously, she led BlackRock’s U.S. Institutional Index Asset Allocation business, responsible for over $200B across all asset classes, investment styles and vehicles. While at BlackRock, Maya developed the "Art of the Ask" program to help women reduce the anxiety around asking for what they want and to increase the likelihood they step up to ask. Maya is a graduate of Pomona College and holds an MBA in International Finance from the University of Washington.

Joy Valentine, MSW, LMFT
Joy has had extensive training in a variety of psychological approaches to help people live more fully, self-actualized lives, including Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Conjoint Family Therapy, Divorce Mediation, and Psych-K.  She has provided counseling in a variety of settings, both public and private, which have included the Federal Courts, Family Courts, juvenile correctional settings, mental health agencies, social service agencies and private practice. Her specialty is helping women struggling in increasing their earnings to break through to a six-figure income/business by showing them how to identify and clear their hidden money blocks. Joy holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California.
