Sustaining Economic Expansion

A View from the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco

Mary Daly, Executive Vice President and Director of Research at the San Francisco Fed, will talk about the economic outlook and the major question facing policymakers: how to achieve a smooth landing for the economy. She’ll discuss the challenge of balancing the risks of letting the economy run too hot by keeping rates low, with the potential effects of raising rates too fast. She’ll also explore the implications for growth, inflation, and employment.
