2019 Annual Investment Dinner
Registration is now open for the 2019 Annual Investment Dinner at the Westin St. Francis. This annual gala attracts over 600 Bay Area investment industry professionals to share in an evening of good cheer and great discussion centered on several important issues facing the world of finance. Philip Tetlock is the Annenberg University Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, with appointments in Wharton, psychology and political science. He is co-leader of the Good Judgment Project, a multi-year forecasting study, and co-founder of the commercial spinoff, Good Judgment Inc. He is the author of the recently reissued "Expert Political Judgment" and co-author of the best-selling business book, Superforecasting: The Art and Science of Prediction.
In Superforecasting, Mr. Tetlock offers a masterwork on prediction, drawing on decades of research and the results of a massive, government-funded forecasting tournament. The Good Judgment researchers aggregated predictions from tens of thousands of ordinary people, identifying superior "Superforecasters" whose outperformance eclipsed even the analysts in the intelligence community. Superforecasting techniques are now being used by government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private companies across the globe.
Deirdre Bosa is a CNBC technology reporter based in San Francisco's bureau; CNBC@1Market. Ms. Bosa had a frequent presence on air and online as a CNBC contributor and co-anchored morning programs including; "Squawk Box Aisa", "Squawk Box Europe", and "Worldwide Exchange". She joined CNBC in 2012 covering the markets and economies of London and Singapore. Ms. Bosa has reported from events including the World Economic Forum in Davos and CeBIT in Germany and interviewed some of the world's key business figures including; Richard Branson, James Gorman, Arianna Huffington, Bob Diamond and Bill McDermott. Prior to CNBC, she was an anchor and reporter for CCTV News International based in Beijing, as well as a contributor to Fox Business News. Ms. Bosa also worked for several multinational corporations including Barrick Gold in Toronto and Rio Tinto in Shanghai. She is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal, Canada and University of Hong Kong's Masters of Journalism program.
