According to a recent Harvard Business Review article, the top one-third of companies that employ data-driven decision making are, on average, 5% more productive and 6% more profitable than their competitors. This finding is statistically significant and is reflected in measurable increases in stock market valuations .

Data science describes the art of extracting insights from data and improves decision-making and boosts product development. Because of the benefits that data science brings to corporations, financial institutions, and startups, it is one of the most prized skill sets today.

CFA Society San Francisco and Cognitir, a global training company, are organizing a full-day course on February 23rd and 24th, 2019 to teach the essentials of data science with the Python programming language. This course will analyze various finance-related data sets to help finance professionals uncover meaningful insights from data. Cognitir has successfully led training at CFA Society San Francisco before and is excited to be invited back!

By the end of this introductory course, participants will have used the Python programming language to analyze real-world finance-related data sets, draw meaningful conclusions from the data, and present their results in a clear and persuasive manner. You will receive six months of complimentary support after completion of the course.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Upon registration, Cognitir will distribute pre-work materials via the email provided. As part of your course preparation, you will need to complete a free, online Python course that Cognitir will provide you when you sign up. The average participant spends 8-10 hours completing the Python pre-work, and this pre-work does not need to be completed in one-sitting. You can complete it over several days. If you already have Python experience, email Cognitir at info@cognitir.com for a pre-seminar quiz that will help you determine if you can skip the pre-work altogether

COMPUTER REQUIREMENTS: Both PCs and Macs can be used in the course. You will need to download free Python-related software to participate in this course. Cognitir will provide you with detailed instructions on how to do this after you sign up. Please note that if you are planning to use a corporate laptop, you may need permission from your IT/tech department to download external software, so please allow enough time for this installation process.

In addition to installing free Python software, you will need to download free webinar software that will allow you to take this live, online-based course. The software link will be provided to you in the pre-seminar email and will allow you to interact with your live instructor and course participants.
