Financial Advisor Wellness Research 2019
In Partnership with FlexShares
Growing Your Business without Killing Yourself
Understanding the barriers of wellness in the workplace has never been more important. Our industry is predicted to have a shortfall of 200,000 advisors by 2021. To stop this gap, advisory firms will need to retool in order to appeal to more women, people of color and younger professionals. We believe managing with wellness in mind will help firms attract, hire and retain talented advisors to move their businesses forward in the dynamic years ahead.
David Partain, Head of Marketing for FlexShares Exchange Traded Funds, explains the results of the most recent survey while also providing advisors with strategies for dealing with the stress of growing a successful advisory practice. Based on the second iteration of an annual survey by Northern Trust’s FlexShares on financial advisor wellness, the presentation will highlight the survey findings from the 632 advisors who chose to participate in late 2018. In this year’s survey we revealed key stressors and the divergence of those stressors and solutions based on gender, age, marital status and whether advisors were caring for dependents. Additionally, the survey also compared stressors among firm types and services offered.
