William J. Chep
olis joined the company in 1998 as a vice president and portfolio manager of mortgage-backed securities. He moved on to mortgage-backed security trading and the total-return-portfolio management team for two years before being named co-head of the rates desk, overseeing trading and portfolio management of U.S. Treasury, agency, mortgage-backed, commercial mortgage-backed and asset backed securities within Deutsche mutual funds. Prior to joining the firm, he spent 13 years as a vice president and portfolio manager of mortgage-backed securities and as a foreign exchange trader for Norwest Bank Minnesota (now Wells Fargo).
