Join CFASF and our Women’s Initiative Network (WIN) for our 4th Annual Global Portfolio Managers Panel. Hear from 4 expert, senior level portfolio managers sharing differing perspectives on investment practices, management style, and outlooks for the markets. Each panelist also shares her individual story of career success, sharing tips and ideas with the audience on growing their own careers. 

This event has grown exponentially since its inception. We expect nearly 200 financial professionals, 75% of whom are CFA charterholders, in the audience. Attendees include portfolio managers, financial advisors, CIOs, relationship managers, research analysts, principals of RIA firms and family offices, pension & endowment advisors, fintech entrepreneurs, and more.

Speaker Bios:

Michelle Borré, CFA is the portfolio manager of Oppenheimer Fundamental Alternatives Fund and lead Portfolio Manager of Oppenheimer Capital Income Fund. Previously, she served as a Senior Research Analyst covering special situations for OppenheimerFunds' Value Team. Prior to joining OppenheimerFunds in 2003, she held various positions at J&W Seligman, including Managing Director and Partner.

Tiffany Hsiao, CFA
is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews Asia, and manages the firm’s China Small Companies Strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she was a Vice President and Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs Investment Partners in Hong Kong and Tokyo from 2007 to 2013. She was responsible for researching Asia Pacific investments, with an emphasis on equities in China. Previously, she spent six years at Franklin Templeton Investments, where she managed the firm’s global communications fund. Tiffany earned her Master of Science and Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. She is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, and conversational in Cantonese. 

Joanna (Jody) F. Jonsson, CFA is an equity portfolio manager at Capital Group. She has 27 years of investment experience and has been with Capital Group for 25 years. Earlier in her career, as an equity investment analyst at Capital, Jody covered insurance, U.S. household & personal care, restaurants & lodging and cruise lines companies. Before joining Capital, she was an equity research analyst at Fidelity Management & Research Company in Boston and an officer in the public finance division of Irving Trust Company in New York. Jody holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University graduating cum laude. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. Jody is based in Los Angeles.

Ellen Safir, CFA is Founder and Chief Investment Officer of New Century Advisors and founded the firm in 2002. She is responsible for the overall investment and business strategies of New Century Advisors. Ellen's personal expertise in the fixed income markets includes TIPS, Emerging Markets, and high-yield sectors, as well as to traditional fixed income sectors. Her prior experience includes serving for 16 years as Managing Director, Fixed Income and Currencies, at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), a nonprofit medical research organization and one of the largest philanthropies in the US. Before joining HHMI, Ellen was assistant treasurer of the American National Red Cross, where she managed operating reserves and oversaw the organization's retirement system and endowment portfolios. She began her career as a financial analyst at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. Ellen is vice chairman of the investment committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and serves on the finance committee of the Foundation for Advanced Education in Science at the National Institutes of Health and is a board member of Horizons Greater Washington, a not-for-profit organization that empowers economically disadvantaged students through public private partnerships between independent and public school communities. A past president of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts and of the Washington Association of Money Managers, she formerly served on the board of directors of Century National Bank of Washington, D.C. Ellen also served on the board of AARP Mutual Funds, where she was chair of the investment committee. Ellen holds a B.A. from Bennington College and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.

Diana S. Strandberg, CFA, Senior Vice President and Director of International Equity at Dodge & Cox — Ms. Strandberg graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1981 (Phi Beta Kappa) and received her M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1986. After two years as a securities analyst at the First Boston Corporation, she joined Dodge & Cox in 1988. Ms. Strandberg is a Senior Vice President of the Dodge & Cox Funds. She is a Director and shareholder of the firm and holds the CFA designation.
