Registration Terms & Conditions 

Reservations for CFA Society San Francisco programs must be made in advance on the CFA Society San Francisco website to ensure a space. Payment is due at the time of registration. On the day of the scheduled event, your reservation will be held for the entire program. Walk-ins may be accepted for in-person events only when space permits. Registration deadlines are dependent on specific program details. Please see the program description for the registration deadline date. 

Consent to Use Photographic Images 

Registration and attendance at, or participation in, CFA Society San Francisco programs and other activities constitutes an agreement by the registrant to the use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videotapes, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities by CFA Society San Francisco and other third parties, including but not limited to the venue, the host city, and the programming sponsor. By participating in a CFA Society San Francisco program, you are giving CFA Society San Francisco permission to utilize your photograph or video uploaded, tagged, or mentioned the association directly for society purposes such as to our newsletters and conference materials, social media, publications, and our website. 

Cancellation Terms & Conditions 

Notice of cancellation is due to CFA Society San Francisco via email no later than seven days before an event, or as specified on the event page, in order to be refunded. After that time, cancellations may be made however refunds will not be awarded. All event transactions under $25 are non-refundable. 

Meeting Safety & Responsibility Policy 

CFA Society San Francisco seeks to foster a productive, safe and mutually respectful environment for the presentation and exchange of ideas, opinions and information. All participants who attend a CFA Society San Francisco sponsored or hosted event are expected to be considerate, respectful, and collaborative; to refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech; to be mindful of surroundings and fellow participants. Together, we can ensure that CFA Society San Francisco events are safe and welcoming experiences. 

Unacceptable behavior that could be considered in violation of this Code of Conduct includes (but is not limited to): 

  • Making libelous or knowingly false statements 
  • Violating confidentiality terms and/or the privacy of others 
  • Infringing upon any copyright, trademark, or trade secret of another party* 
  • Tampering with equipment or defacing property 
  • Harassing, intimidating or threatening others 
  • Engaging in disorderly behavior, including asking disruptive questions and/or making inappropriate comments or physical gestures 

CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether any behavior at any CFA Society San Francisco event or meeting is unacceptable and in violation of this Code of Conduct. In the event that CFA Society San Francisco determines that an individual has violated this Code of Conduct or has otherwise engaged in conduct that is deemed to be improper, prejudicial or detrimental, CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to: 

(i) remove any such individual from a CFA Society San Francisco event or meeting, where ever such event or meeting is held 

(ii) bar any individual from attending future CFA Society San Francisco events or meetings and/or accessing CFA Society San Francisco facilities in the future, and/or 

(iii) suspend any such individual's CFA Society San Francisco membership or expel such individual from CFA Society San Francisco. 

Personal Safety and Security 

CFA Society San Francisco works diligently to provide a safe and secure environment at its meetings and events by working with venue staff to make sure meeting participants are safe.  

By registering for and attending a Society meeting or event, you agree knowingly and freely assume all such risk, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of CFA Society San Francisco or others, and assume full responsibility for your participation. We ask that all attendees report any questionable or concerning activity to CFA Society San Francisco staff so that they can take immediate action. No concern is too small, if you see something, say something. If it is an emergency or if you need immediate assistance, you should ask any CFA Society San Francisco staff member or the on-site security personnel to help you. 

Unacceptable Behavior 
  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form. 
  • Physical or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, CFA Society San Francisco staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest. 
  • Examples of unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to, verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, or threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, CFA Society San Francisco staff member, service provider, or other meeting guest. 
  • Disruption of presentations online or in-person at sessions, in the exhibit hall, or at other events organized by CFA Society San Francisco at the meeting venue, hotels, CFA Society San Francisco offices, or other CFA Society San Francisco-contracted facilities. All participants must comply with the instructions of the moderator and any CFA Society San Francisco event staff. 
  • The recording or transmission of any education sessions, presentations, demos, videos, or content in any format is strictly prohibited. 
  • Presentations, postings, and messages should not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services. CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations. 
  • Any direct selling of products/services offered by speakers, industry partners, or consultants in any public area of the virtual platform or in-person, is strongly discouraged. CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to remove such messages. Many of the engagement conversations are based around knowledge and expertise and are not categorized as a direct sales pitch.  
  • Participants should not copy or take screen shots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space. 
Responsible Drinking 

At most CFA Society San Francisco networking events both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are served. CFA Society San Francisco expects participants at our events to drink responsibly. CFA Society San Francisco and meeting host event staff have the right to deny service to participants for any reason, and may require a participant to leave the event. 

Event Privacy Policy 

Your data privacy and security are important to us. When you register for an event, CFA Society San Francisco will process your data in accordance with our legitimate interests for hosting an industry event and for being a community-based organization. Please review our complete privacy policy for details. 

Zero-Tolerance 

CFA Society San Francisco has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment by participants or our staff at our meetings. If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, CFA Society San Francisco asks that you inform Eric Geedey, CFA Society San Francisco, CEO, [email protected], 415-814-7905, so that we can take the appropriate action. 

CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and CFA Society San Francisco reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future meeting.
