Industry Membership

$150 Annually

Open to all investment and finance professionals not pursuing the CFA charter or CIPM certificate, the Industry Membership is designed for individuals who want to connect with a respected community of peers, grow professionally, and stay current on industry insights. With no work experience or professional references required, it’s a simple and accessible way to access the resources and join the community of one of the largest CFA societies in the world.

Member Renewals & Dues

The first year's dues are prorated for new Society members and renews automatically each July 31 at the current member rate - $150 per year.

Candidate Membership

$50 Annually

Candidate Membership is built to support you on your path to earning the charter, offering exceptional value, including priority access to prep resources and a built-in network of fellow candidates. If you're currently enrolled in the CFA Program or have taken an exam within the past six months, Candidate Membership might be right for you. Once you’ve passed Level III, you’ll no longer qualify for Candidate Membership and will need to join as a Regular Member through CFA Institute.

Member Renewals & Dues

Candidate Membership renews each July 31 at the current member rate - $50 per year. Proof of CFA Program enrollment or recent exam participation is required annually to maintain eligibility.

Student Membership

$25 Annually

Student Membership is available to undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a university program. For just $25 per year, students gain early access to career resources, exclusive student leadership programs, and networking that will set them apart in a competitive job market.

Membership Renewal & Dues

Student Membership renews each July 31 at the current member rate - $25 per year. Proof of university enrollment is required annually to maintain eligibility.

CFA Institute + Society Membership

$175 Annually

Charterholders, Regular members, and Affiliate members of CFA Institute are encouraged to join CFA Society San Francisco for the full member experience. These memberships are reserved for professionals who meet specific qualifications set by CFA Institute, including passing CFA or CIPM exams, meeting work experience thresholds, and submitting professional references.

Member Renewal & Dues

Dues are paid directly to CFA Institute, with a combined cost of $299 (Institute) + $175 (local society). Memberships renew on July 31 each year.
