Celebrate, connect, and engage with fellow investment professionals at the CFA Society San Francisco premier annual member event.
Join CFA Society San Francisco for our Annual Member Gathering, an evening dedicated to celebrating our members and the broader investment community. This highly anticipated, member-exclusive event brings together professionals from across Northern California to make new connections, exchange ideas, and gain fresh perspectives in an informal yet thoughtful setting. The evening will feature a dynamic networking reception, complemented by a brief program.
We are incredibly honored to announce that, for the first time in our Society’s history, CFA Society San Francisco has been selected to present the prestigious Graham and Dodd Top Award. Established in 1960 to honor the legacy of Benjamin Graham and David Dodd, these awards recognize the pinnacle of research excellence and financial writing in the Financial Analysts Journal.
During this exclusive fireside chat, we will be joined by two of the co-authors of the 2025 Top Award-winning paper, "Thematic Investing: A Risk-Based Perspective." They will dive into their groundbreaking research, which proposes a formal risk-based definition for thematic baskets and introduces a bootstrapping approach to identify statistically significant correlations that often lead to risk levels far exceeding standard predictions. Following the discussion and a presentation of the award, the authors will take questions from the audience to further explore the practical implications of their findings for modern portfolio management.
Enjoy great company and hear leading industry insights while connecting with fellow Society members—whether you’re reconnecting with long-standing colleagues or building new relationships within the community. This event continues to be a highlight of the Society calendar, offering a blend of celebration, insight, and meaningful engagement.
Registration is exclusive to Society members and their guests. Space is limited - register today.
