How are advisors really using alternatives? Join CFA Society San Francisco and FPA for a candid panel discussion on how financial professionals are evaluating and incorporating alternative investments into client portfolios.
Alternative investments continue to attract growing attention across the wealth management industry, prompting advisors to reassess their role within modern client portfolios. As investor interest increases and access expands, many firms are evaluating where alternatives may enhance diversification, income generation, and long-term portfolio outcomes—while also weighing concerns around liquidity, complexity, and implementation.
Join CFA Society San Francisco and FPA for a candid discussion on how advisors are approaching alternative investments in practice. Panelists will share real-world perspectives on why they are—or are not—incorporating alternatives into client portfolios, how client demand is evolving, and the considerations shaping allocation decisions today.
This conversation will offer practical insights into portfolio construction, advisor adoption trends, client communication strategies, and the broader alternative investment landscape. Attendees will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow financial professionals during a post-panel networking reception.

CIO and Private Wealth Advisor, Treehouse Wealth Advisors
Stacey Chin brings her experience in wealth management and financial planning to Treehouse Wealth Advisors (“TWA”). Stacey manages individual, customized portfolios structured to help her clients reach their financial goals. On a Sunday morning in the summer, Stacey can be found reading a book with a hot cup of coffee. In the winter, you will find her on the ski slopes. If you’ve looked both those places and she’s nowhere to be found, she most likely is with friends or family, traveling, or eating something delicious. Over the years, Stacey has refined her skills as an excellent oyster shucker but she likes to keep it secret because she’d rather someone else shuck them for her. Aw shucks Stacey, cats out of the bag! Originally from Sacramento, CA, Stacey received her double B.A. degree in Sociology and International Relations – Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and her Masters in Social Science from the University of Chicago.
